Meet the Staff 2014!

Camp Talooli has one of the greatest summer staffs around. With nearly 80% of our staff returning each year, our staff members are incredibly skilled, innovative, and enthusiastic about sharing their love of summer camp with Talooli campers. This is a way for us to share just how special each of our counselors, program staff, and leaders are.

Lea Taylor

Position at Camp this summer:

Waterfront Director

How many years have you been coming to Camp Talooli?

13 years! Prior to becoming the Waterfront Director, Lea attended Camp as a camper and CIT, in addition to spending several summers as a lifeguard.

Who was your favorite counselor when you were a camper?

My favorite counselor was Tory Wegerski. I had her during a week of overnight camp and myself and all of my cabin-mates thought she was so cool!

What is your favorite theme week?

Hook and Pan week because it's so fun to watch campers get so excited about the story and defeating Hook! TINKERKELL RULES!

What career are you currently pursuing?

I currently attend Skidmore College and plan to become a child psychologist.

If you were a superhero, what would your superhero name be?

Lea Land Shark!

What are you most looking forward to about this summer?

My favorite part about working on the waterfront is that I get to know so many different campers and develop relationships with them as they progress in their swimming skills and confidence. Each summer I look forward to reconnecting with the campers I've watched grow up and meeting new ones!

What is the your favorite part about being on staff at Camp Talooli?

The Camp Talooli staff is an incredible group of people that come together each summer not only to work alongside each other and care for children, but also to teach each other and give back to a place that has meant so much to all of us. I particularly like working with and helping newer staff--many whom I've known since they were campers--transform into confident, amazing counselors.
