Meet the Staff 2018!

Camp Talooli has one of the greatest summer staffs around. With about 80% of our staff returning this year, our staff members are incredibly skilled, innovative, and enthusiastic about sharing their love of summer camp with Talooli campers.

Name:

Evan Tuthill

Position at Camp this summer:

Head Counselor

How many years have you been coming to Camp Talooli?

14 years! Evan was a Talooli camper and CIT before becoming a counselor. This will be his first summer working as one of our Head Counselors.

Tell us about your job this summer.

I've been hired as the boys' Head Counselor. This entails preparing and supporting newer staff members, making sure cabins remain clean and tidy during the week, and just making sure that the week goes well. I'm very excited to be able to connect with all the counselors and help them through any struggles they have. It may be difficult to keep tabs on everyone, but I'm sure I'll be able to handle it.

What is your favorite Disney movie?

Atlantis. It tells a beautiful tale of accepting people regardless of backgrounds. Also, I just thought it was a cool story.

What type of career are you currently pursuing?

Currently, I am studying environmental politics, but I am still figuring out what I plan on doing as a career. In the fall, Evan will be a sophomore at Binghamton University.

What are you most looking forward to about this summer?

I'm very much looking forward to helping campers experience things they haven't before. Camp is a great chance to experience friendship, teamwork, and fun. Plus, who doesn't love the outdoors?!

What is your favorite theme week at Camp Talooli?

Olympic Week! I love the hype behind the competitions and the fact that it celebrates how everyone has a talent to be proud of.

What is your favorite part about working on staff at Camp Talooli?

My favorite thing about joining the Talooli Staff is the fact that it's less of a staff and more of a family. We all care for each other and have so much fun each summer.
