Meet the Staff 2018!

Camp Talooli has one of the greatest summer staffs around. With about 80% of our staff returning this year, our staff members are incredibly skilled, innovative, and enthusiastic about sharing their love of summer camp with Talooli campers.

Name:

Nick Baiamonte

Position at Camp this summer:

Videographer

How many years have you been coming to Camp Talooli?

14 years! Nick was a Talooli camper and CIT before becoming a counselor. This will be his first summer working as our Videographer.

Tell us about your job this summer.

This summer I'll be the Videographer at Camp. Basically, this means that I'll be recording footage throughout the week and editing it into a video to show the kids at the end of the week. They will also be able to take it to home to rewatch it whenever they want to relive the magic of Camp.

I think the most exciting part about the job is that I'll get to be at Camp for the whole summer. Camp is my favorite place in the world and getting to spend a whole summer working there is a dream come true!

Wbat is your favorite thing a camper has ever said to you?

"Nick, I am your boss. You are MY camper now, that's just the way it has to be."

What is your favorite Disney movie?

Lilo and Stitch. I really love the emphasis on "ohana," or family, throughout the movie. Watching this as a kid taught me you don't have to be blood related to be a family...or even from the same planet.

What type of career are you currently pursuing?

I'm majoring in theatre with a minor in audio design and production. I am hoping that one day I'll be a professional stage manager. In the fall, Nick will be a sophomore at SUNY Oswego.

What are you most looking forward to about this summer?

I am just really looking forward to being back at Camp and eating some Mega-Dog.

What is your favorite theme week at Camp Talooli?

Mystery Week is my all-time favorite theme week. When I was a camper, I was obsessed with The Phantom. As a counselor, I loved seeing how excited the kids get every time he would mysteriously appear. PLUS, The Phantom throws candy, so whats not to love?!.

What is your favorite part about working on staff at Camp Talooli?

My favorite part about being on staff is getting to be part of a giant family. Everyone who you work with during the summer really cares about the people around them, and that isn't something you get to experience at a lot of jobs.
