Why Camp Talooli?
Camp Talooli is a rustic, lakeside summer camp in the woods of Pennellville, NY, just 25 miles north of Syracuse and within 15 miles of Baldwinsville, North Syracuse, Fulton and Oswego. For more than 70 years, children from all over New York State have fallen in love with our day and resident camping programs.
Come walk in our forest, swim in our lake, sing songs around our campfire, make friends to last a lifetime, and you’ll fall in love with Talooli, too.
Situated on 170 acres of woodlands with a private lake used only by our campers and staff, Camp Talooli’s programs are designed with the camper in mind. Our porgrams have a child-centered approach, emphasizing small groups and acceptance of differences. Programs focus on appreciation of the outdoor environment, democratic group living, concern for others, fun and friendship.
Each summer Camp Talooli hires approximately 60 staff members who go through week-long training on child development, risk management, behavior management and how to focus on the needs of children. This is to ensure your child will have an experience at camp that is fun, safe and nurturing.
You’ll find that many of our staff attended Camp Talooli as campers and graduated from our CIT program. Many other staff members are college students who come back year after year to spend their summers at Camp Talooli.
