Counselor-In-Training (CIT)
The CIT program is a national leadership program for teenagers interested in working with children in a camp setting. The three-year program begins with a week of resident camp at 13 years old, another week of resident camp at 14 years old, and then two weeks of shadowing at 15 years old. Those graduating from the CIT program are eligible to apply for a day camp counselor position the following summer, at 16 years old.
Talooli’s CIT program helps prepare teens for the workforce at large by teaching and developing:
- leadership and team-building skills
- responsibility
- independence
- child development
- planning
- good decision-making skills
CIT's must be 13 years old by the beginning of July 2024 for entrance to the program.
Registration for Summer 2025 will open on February 5 at 10am for returning families. New Families can register on February 6 at 10am.
